With the removal of the Log table we lost the ability to determine the average percent of a song that was played. While the Log table itself may, or may not, have been overkill, the ability to determine how much of a song the listener listens to is imperative to developing a client that tries to intelligently pick songs to play. At one point tru was talking about have an amountplayed property which was the sum of the percents of the song played. With that one could easily subtract the old value and get the percent played for the last time the song was played, or divide it by the timesplayed property to get the average. |
