0001466: Waf doesn't inform about required dependencies

This is probably a limitation in waf as it has to associate directory with a configuration check which requires fairly deep modifications to waf, thus you should file the bug here instead:

If you think this is a waf limitation contact the waf authors yourself, please.

I have no idea about waf and I am using it only indirectly though xmms2 so I would have no idea how it is used or if some modifications to its configuration are acceptable.

Perhaps you could modify the tests to print some messages to the standard error, and perhaps you could not.

You've filed a feature request here, it's just as easy to file it in waf's bts. Post a link here when you're done, or request this bug to be closed.
