Summary |
0002324: Seeking in MP3 files causes loud blips |
|
Description |
When you seek through most MP3 files (particularly if you seek a few times in a row) you will hear loud squeaks and other sounds normally only heard on corrupted MP3 files.
It seems that when seeking through an MP3 file it must skip at the byte-level, causing the decoder to lose sync and resume playing in the middle of a block, resulting in an audible artefact. (Perhaps only variable bit rate files are affected if this is true.) |
